NBC misreports size of Health care reform by 100000%
In a segment discussing the Health Care Reform summit hosted by President Obama, NBC’s Kelly O’Donnell mis-reports the size of the Democratic Reform Package as “$900 TRILLION dollars over ten years” instead of “$900 BILLION dollars over ten years”. NBC backs her up with an identical graphic mis-reporting the same incorrect figure. No correction was ever issued. Not that night nor the next (the MSNBC website *corrected* the video and online text to read only “$1 Trillion”, which is STILL wrong, off by only $100 BILLION DOLLARS.) In a story on the cost of Health Care Reform, with Republicans being quoted on-air as saying “We can’t afford this”, getting the COST of reform correct would seem vitally important, don’tchathink?
